I’ve been intrigued by the world of aromatherapy for quite some time. It’s especially interesting when you see some studies showing that smelling lavender and rosemary increases free radical scavenging activity and decreases cortisol level in saliva or some blends can alleviate insomnia or assist in childbirth. Although, it seems overwhelming to really jump into researching all the intricate details of what oils or blends work for what. There are just so many out there and they all have multiple uses. So I was more than excited when Tazeka Aromatherapy offered to have me try a few of their blends. They carry 17 different blends in total and they seem to cover every situation you’d want to find an aromatherapy blend for. The best part? It’s all spelled out for you. Each blend has a specific purpose and the oils used have been chosen specifically for that use.

A lot of research has gone into their blends. In fact, the founder Zena Hallam, is originally from Guyana, South America, but after watching her mother heal people in her village using herbal medicine, she decided to formally study natural healing methods like reflexology and eventually aromatherapy. She studied in England, France and the U.S. and went on to create her own aromatherapy blends. All of the ingredients used are organic, unsprayed and/or ethically grown. They don’t include any synthetics or preservatives. On top of all of that, their packaging is pretty chic and cute! Easy enough to throw in your purse or pretty enough to keep on your night stand. So what did I try?

Motivation

This is the perfect blend for me to roll on before I write a post or have a big task ahead I need to get some serious motivation for. I found this one to be very effective and it has a nice scent. Essential oils of thyme, ginger, black spruce, lime, coriander and balsam fir help you to get the task done. I reach for this one the most out of the three I tried, simply because it works so well and who doesn’t need a little motivation more often? I love the pretty pink packaging and easy roll on application. $39.50

Breathe Easy

I thought I may not have a chance to try this one, but of course, having two young kids, I’ve had multiple chances to try it in the last few weeks (germs and sniffles everywhere). It really does bring some welcome relief when you’re congested from a cold or allergies and it’s a nice pick me up just to use the pretty product when you’re feeling icky. Essential oils of eucalyptus, spike lavender, cypress, scotch pine, balsam fir, and scotch mint help to clear your sinuses, relax you and keep you feeling like yourself. $39.50

PMS rescue

PMS Rescue

Truthfully, I’ve found my PMS to be intensified since having children. True PMS happens a few days before your period and that’s when I feel the most emotional and out of control of my reactions (I’m sure my husband would deny all of this and say I’m always an angel :)). In any case, it’s nice to have something to turn to when I feel those emotions rise up and the PMS Rescue blend has proved to be a good distraction from the out of control feelings, at minimum, and truly a good way to calm myself and recenter. In this blend they use essential oils of geranium, cypress, lavender, and roman chamomile to help calm and comfort you. $39.50

They have so many interesting blends I’d love to try! From Peaceful Slumber to Slim Solution, I think you can find something to offer you some holistic help to whatever you’re facing. I’ve loved these blends so much that I’ve teamed up with Tazeka Aromatherapy to giveaway three of their blends to a lucky winner. Be sure to follow along on Instagram for details on how to enter! xoxo
