Hard to believe the first half of the year is officially over, but here we are staring down the fourth of July! We still have a ton of fun things and trips planned for the next couple of months, so summer is in full swing for us. While we’re all on the go enjoying the sunny weather, I’ve rounded up everything you need to enjoy this warmer month: from the best portable water filtration I’ve found, to some fun summer makeup and more. Here are 7 things for July!
One. Beauty Heroes X Ere Perez
I love when Beauty Heroes puts together a special Makeup Discovery and this current one features a brand I really fell for when I first tested them out back in December. Ere Perez is an Australian-based brand and I love their fun colors and well-performing products. This Discovery includes one of the Carrot Colour Pots, a Lip & Cheek Tint, and their waterproof Mascara. It comes in either a pink color way (shown above) or red. Two. Smooth Summer Skin

Three. Smelling Fresh
I always get a lot of natural deodorant questions in the summer and I get why! Five. Beyond UV Ray Protection
You may have seen some buzz or new products labeled to have blue light protection in addition to sun protection. What does it mean and is it necessary? I tapped Tricia Trimble, the President/Founder, of Suntegrity for more about this and what they use:
“Melanin, a widely occurring pigment within the animal and plant kingdom has been long considered photo-protective. While natural melanin produced in human skin results from complete melanogenesis, which generates a high molecular weight polymer and protects from the broad spectrum of sunlight, its absorbance is relatively low in the HEV region and may be insufficient to effectively shield the skin from HEV light when used topically. In order to further protect the skin from HEV light, a special derivative of melanin was prepared and this is what we use. It is a fractionated melanin compound (derived from corn) and designed to be used topically as an additional environmental defense against High Energy Visible (HEV) light. It is designed to shield the skin from high energy blue/violet visible light by absorbing light in the range of 400-500 nm wavelengths. It was designed to have a molecular weight that is estimated to be 5,000 to 10,000 Daltons and will not penetrate healthy, intact skin.”
With all the blue light exposure we get in our modern lives, I think we’ll see more about this. Products like Suntegrity’s Impeccable Skin offer blue light protection, along with sun protection.
Six. W3ll People’s Latest & Greatest
I always get excited about high-quality makeup with clean ingredients AND a reasonable price tag!
