W.E.L.L. Summit 2017 Recap

Where do I start? W.E.L.L. Summit 2017 was so far beyond what I had imagined. This was my first time going and I knew it’d be good, but it was awesome. I walked away feeling filled up, focused and more passionate about what I do than ever. I can’t wait to share what went down!

WELL Summit Bloggers

Jessica, Suzi, Lisa, me, Sammie

One of the highlights for me was a rare chance to hang with some of my good blogging friends. I flew in Thursday and stayed in a sweet Airbnb with Suzi, Lisa, Jessica and Suzi’s sisters and Lisa’s friend. Sammie was also hanging with us, but stayed with a friend in Brooklyn. Behind the scenes these are some of the girls I have an endless text, video and voice message stream with. We’re always bouncing ideas off each other, sharing knowledge and lots of mom tips! It was so great to experience this event with them.

After we got settled in, things kicked off that Thursday night with party at Athleta. If you haven’t been to their Flatiron location, it’s huge and even has a whole yoga studio in the basement! We met up with some other bloggers, sipped on hard kombucha and I was able to meet W.E.L.L. Summit founder, Gianne Doherty. She is so driven and passionate, yet so kind and approachable.

Friday was the opening day and we spent the afternoon listening to several great speakers and panels. They also had some great organic snacks for us and a ton of goodies in our gift bags, like books, more snacks and some organic makeup items.

Following the panels, we headed to the L.I.V.E. W.E.L.L. party. There was so much packed into this party! A ton of great brands were set up with tables to sample or buy their products. It was great to see some of the products in person and I love meeting the people behind the brands too! There were healthy snacks to sample, a manicure bar set up from Tenoverten and photo booths everywhere. They even had a bar making specialty cocktails with kombucha (of course).

Saturday was the breakout sessions and quite possibly my favorite part of the whole weekend. Ahead of time, we got to choose which ones we would attend and some of the time slots were a tough decision- there were so many sessions I wanted to be in!

I could go on and on about all of the sessions, but the ones that stood out the most to me were:

Ferment Me Not: How to Use Probiotic-Rich Foods to Grow Your Gut Garden & Heal Your Body with Phoebe Lapine. This one was all about your gut bacteria and how to prepare and use fermented foods. It was so fascinating and I learned so much!

WELL Summit

How Women Can Embrace The Power of Asking. More. Now. with Cyndie Spiegel. She was an awesome speaker. Cyndie really interacted with the audience and walked us through determining our end goals and how to ask for what we want.

WELL Summit

Separating Skincare Fact from Fiction – An MD Explains What Really Makes Sense in Your Quest for Glowing Skin with Dr. Sarah Villafranco. This was such an informative session. Dr. Villafranco (also the founder of Osmia) cut to the chase on a lot of skincare myths and even talked about some misconceptions in the natural beauty world. I could sit and listen to her for hours!

WELL Summit Tribe

All good things must come to an end and the W.E.L.L. Summit wrapped up with a brunch on Sunday. Sadly, I couldn’t make it since it was cutting it close with my flight, but I still feel like I got so much out of the whole event and it was a great experience. We ate at some delicious, real food restaurants like Hu Kitchen (a favorite Suzi and I went to on repeat) and Eden Local. We stayed up late chatting and checking out the amazing view on the terrace of our place. The whole trip was so, so good. A big thanks to W.E.L.L. Summit for inviting me to go as an influencer and a big thanks to my roomie Jessica, who let me repeatedly borrow her brush and hair dryer (my packing skills were not so on point this trip lol). I can’t wait to go back again next year. Who’s coming with me?
