The September Beauty Heroes box, once again, knocked it out of the park with both their brand and product selection. I was introduced to UMA earlier this year and was instantly impressed with everything from their packaging to how the products smell and of course, how they perform. So I was definitely excited when I discovered that this month’s Beauty Heroes box was featuring a full size bottle of UMA’s Intensely Nourishing Hair Oil and their new mask launch as a side kick!

September Beauty Heroes

Love Is The Root Of All Beauty

UMA was founded by Shrankhla Holochek. Originally from India, she moved to California about 9 years ago and became driven to create a line of products based off of actual, time-tested Indian rituals and Ayurvedic principals. She set out to bring her family’s rich heritage into our modern life with products that are luxurious while using age old, traditional formulas in your everyday routine. All of the oils are 100% organically grown, extracted and bottled on her family’s farm that’s known for producing top quality oils. I actually had the pleasure of meeting Shrankhla last week at the Beauty Heroes reception and she is so sweet and knowledgeable! I loved getting to hear part of her story in person.

UMA Nourishing Hair Oil

UMA Hair Oil

The Intensely Nourishing Hair Oil is definitely nourishing. The bright, herbal-citrusy scent feels fresh. It’s made with a blend of oils that all serve a specific purpose, and they work together to hydrate and help clear and calm your scalp, while providing anti-aging benefits. You can use the oil on wet or dry hair for frizz control and extra moisture. I prefer using it on dry hair and I just add about 3 drops to my palms and gently rub into my ends for some extra hydration and control. It light enough that it sinks right into my ends without weighing my hair down. You can also do a hair treatment with this by applying the oil directly to your scalp and massaging it in for a couple minutes and then washing your hair as normal afterwards. I actually love oiling my hair before I shower, so it’s nice to do the full on treatment once in a while too. And I have to talk about the bottle as well, because how chic is it?? I love all the botanical prints on the bottle and the simple, sophisticated labeling. It’s definitely a product worth displaying in your bathroom!

UMA Face Mask

This month’s box also included a side kick which happens to be a new launch for UMA. Their Ultimate Brightening Face Mask is such a sensory experience. The mask itself has such a unique, yet herbal scent. It’s actually kind of an addictive scent. I hesitate to say this.. But it slightly reminds me of Aveda’s scent, except it really smells like spices and herbs instead just fake fragrance. The ingredients in this mask pack quite a powerhouse punch. Saffron, sandalwood, orange peel, papaya, tomato, cinnamon, essential oils, clay, aloe vera and more, work fast to brighten your skin. The mask has a slight warming effect on my skin, but isn’t uncomfortable at all. It’s a quick mask- just seven minutes on and then you can wipe off with a washcloth or rinse off. I really enjoyed this mask and it was so fun to be one of the first to try it, since this box is the first launch of it.

September Beauty Heroes

Here’s the part where I remind you of what a great deal Beauty Heroes is. Seriously though, UMA’s Hair Oil usually retails for $70, plus the mask is included, so it’s a steal to get it through Beauty Heroes this month. If you haven’t tried UMA, this is also a great way to get introduced to their luxe, gorgeous brand. And as always, Beauty Hero members get 15% off in their shop, which is now stocked with lots of UMA products too! Happy September lovelies! xo
