In my dream world, all makeup would have only the best ingredients and it would actually perform- as in, apply easily and stay on all day. Maybe not all makeup can have pure ingredients or perform well, but I’ve recently discovered a makeup line that meets all of that and more. Inika Organic is an Australian makeup line that has stellar ingredients and professional level makeup products. I’d never heard of them until The Choosy Chick reached out earlier this spring and told me the had an awesome makeup line they were going to start carrying. They offered for me to be one of the first to try Inika stateside, and I’m so happy I agreed because I fell in love immediately.
So first off, I really like the selection from Inika. From primers to BB creams, they have all the types of makeup products I like to use. They even have a full range of brushes that look great (though I haven’t tried those). All of their makeup is certified organic, certified vegan and certified cruelty-free. As if all of that wasn’t good enough, the makeup I tried lasts ALL day long. I even wore it on a hot, sticky day and ended up doing yard work (wasn’t planning on it, but I looked super glam with my full face of makeup) and even my eye shadow was intact at the end of the day. Seriously. After that, I couldn’t wait to give you the details on all the products I tried.
Certified Organic BB Cream Foundation $45
I’ve been using this as my foundation and I really like the coverage. You can use less for a more sheer look, or a couple of pumps will give you full coverage. It applies easily and sets pretty fast. It gives a matte finish, but doesn’t leave you feeling dry. I’ve been using the Beige and it seems to be a good match.
Certified Organic Liquid Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid $49
I’ll admit, the shade I received was way too dark for me (I have it in Tan), but I still gave it a shot on a couple of days I knew I’d mostly be around the house just so I could try it out. Like the BB cream, it gives a nice, smooth matte finish. It also sets pretty fast and I found it to have very good coverage. If you like full coverage, this is for you. It has great ingredients and they also added in Hyaluronic Acid which pulls moisture into your skin, keeping it looking fresh all day long.
Eye Shadow Duo $29
I really love this duo. I have Plum and Pearl and being honest, I wasn’t sure if the Plum would be too purply or not, but it’s such a gorgeous color on. It looks like a muted plum that blends nicely into your lids. The shadow has a nice pearly sheen without looking sparkly, which can be a pet peeve of mine since so many mineral eye shadow end up looking like a disco ball on your eyelid. Like I said above, this shadow truly lasts all day and it doesn’t crease!
Certified Organic Brow Liner $22
Two things I really love about this: How pigmented the color is and the spooly brush attached to the cap. It makes it so easy to apply to have the brush right there with the brow pencil. Brunette Beauty is a great match for my brunette eyebrows and I haven’t had any issues with it smudging or wearing off.
Ultimate Lip Tint $22
A lip tint with a little bit of shimmer and some great moisture! I have the color Candy and it gives just a soft pink, slightly shimmery glow. It has peppermint in it and the moisture really lasts, so this is a great one to throw in your bag for quick moisture, plus a little bit of color.
Vegan Lipstick
Possibly my new favorite lipstick! I’ve been using it nonstop. I’m using the color Nude Pink and it’s such a pretty saturated nude pink color. I’d say it almost has a touch of peach to it as well. It’s very pigmented for such a light color and the color stays on forever. Even through eating and drinking. It’s long lasting, but not at all drying (which is hard to find).
