Glowing Beets continues to impress me and the June box was no exception! It delivered perfect summer hydration for your skin and shimmery, beachy waves for your hair, all from two stellar brands. I’ve talked about Glowing Beets quite a bit on here (they’re one of my favorite green beauty subscription boxes), but for those who haven’t tried them yet: Each month they include 3 to 4 full size or deluxe sample size products, that are completely natural and free of any sketchy ingredients. It’s an excellent way to get introduced to some new brands or if you’re just starting to switch over to natural products, it’s a good way to see what’s out there. I love that all the products are a great size and you can truly give the product a good trial to see if it’s a good fit. This month delivered 2 full size and one larger sample size products and they were all a hit for me!
Previse Nutrify
This product has recently become a favorite of mine- it’s actually been a staple of my routine this summer since it really offers an extra moisture boost with zero oil or greasiness. It’s a tonic that’s full of antioxidant rich ingredients and hyaluronic acid which is known to increase your skin’s ability to hold in moisture. I usually cleanse and then mist my face with a toner and then apply this tonic before my moisturizer. It absorbs in fast and gives long lasting moisture. The best part is that it’s like you’re wearing nothing. There’s no scent, no extra heaviness that usually occurs when you layer on products. Your skin just feels light and moisturized. I haven’t seen this brand talked about a lot, and so far I’ve been impressed with it, so I’m excited to see Glowing Beets feature two full size products from them.
Previse Defend
The second Previse product is just as good as the first. It’s meant to be the last step in your three step routine, right after you apply Nutrify (just ignore my million step routine, their version is cleanse/Nutrify/Defend). I thought this would be a lotion, but it’s actually unlike any moisturizer I’ve used. It’s half serum/half lotion and has a light as air feel. This product can be used just as part of your routine or anytime during the day that extra moisture is needed. The natural fragrance comes from Ylang Ylang and all of the ingredients are top notch. The whole line from Previse is completely natural, cruelty-free and vegan.
Captain Blankenship Golden Waves Sea Salt Shimmer Spray
This deluxe sample was such a fun little surprise in this month’s box! I have Captain Blankenship’s original Mermaid Spray, but I have to say that this takes it up to a whole new level. It has a fresh, clean scent and definitely creates that beachy texture, but the best part by far is the gorgeous golden shimmer. It’s very subtle in your hair and just adds a bit of extra glow. Even little Annabelle was so enamored with the golden bottle. I may or may not have told her it was princess spray and used it to bribe her a few times.. but hey, to a three year old this stuff really does look magical!
I tried to get a really good close up on the shimmer. So pretty, right? Every girl needs this during the summer for some no-fuss hair days.
As always, this month’s box works out to be quite a deal. Especially when you factor in the full price for the Previse products. I’ve consistently loved the brands they feature, which can only be said for a select few subscription boxes.
