This month, Beauty Heroes unveiled a whole new side to themselves. You may be surprised (and hopefully just as excited as I am!) to find that the June box featured makeup as the hero for the first time ever. While Beauty Heroes has featured makeup as a sidekick in the past, traditionally the hero is a skincare item or sometimes haircare or body care. So it’s quite a change of pace that this month’s box starred four full size makeup items from Modern Minerals. Each item is gorgeous and seems to be universally flattering. I was especially excited to learn which brand was in the box, since I haven’t tried anything from Modern Minerals yet. The more I learned about them, the more excited I was to try the products out.

June Beauty Heroes

Modern Minerals was founded by Diane Read. Diane and the founder of Beauty Heroes, Jeannie Jarnot, had the chance to meet last year and after Diane shared some of her products with Jeannie, Jeannie was smitten. Diane shared with her that she was inspired by the strong women in her family that taught her that beauty starts from within and she also had a strong desire to deliver makeup that had a positive impact on our beauty starting from the inside out. She believes our beauty is inextricably linked to our emotions. I have to believe that is true. As someone who wears their stress or sorrow on my face, as well as my joy, I know that emotions can impact not only how I feel, but also how I look. Diane took this to the next level when she met Katie Hess from Lotus Wei. Lotus Wei makes the most intoxicating flower essences and Diane has incorporated them into Modern Mineral’s Emotive makeup and it is a stunning collection. With the addition of gemstones with the flower essences, the products smell divine as well as look gorgeous and help to lift you up emotionally, changing your beauty from the inside out. Three of the products featured have Lotus Wei Flower Essences as part of their formula and I can’t get enough of how they smell! In fact, I’m pretty smitten with all four products and can see why Jeannie knew she had to share them with all of us.

Modern Minerals Lipgloss

Padparadscha Lotus Wei Infused Lipgloss

The bright, poppy coral color of this lipgloss is instantly uplifting and then you smell it (Yes, smell it!). It’s just the most gorgeous floral scent that gently accompanies this stunning color. I found this lipgloss to be one of the better natural ones that I’ve tried. It truly give you a nice wash of color while keeping your lips hydrated and not sticky in the least bit. The color shows as just a sheer pink on my lips. It has some shimmer when you look at in in the tube, but it’s not that shimmery when on your lips.

Citrine Lipgloss

A more subdued, nude-pink, this gloss is great for everyday wear even if you don’t like a lot of color. It makes your lips look healthy and moisturized with it’s neutral, flattering color. This gloss has a slight tingling effect that seems to actually plump my lips a bit. I like that both glosses are great on their own or nice to layer over your favorite lip color.

Modern Minerals Highlighter

Modern Moonstone Cream Highlighter

I think I’ve stuck gold here! This highlighter is warm enough to not leave a whitish or silver cast like some of my highlighters and is easy on the shimmer (I hate big, obvious looking sparkles). It is seriously the perfect highlighter in my opinion. Even the texture is awesome. Creamy enough to blend in, but has some staying power. It really makes your skin glow without looking too obvious that’s it’s a highlighter.

Modern Minerals Rose Quartz eyeshadow

Rose Quartz Eyeshadow

This may be the most universally flatter shade of eyeshadow that I’ve seen. It’s subdued enough to be used as a neutral or be paired with other shadows, but its also gorgeous enough to be featured on it’s own. It’s shimmery, but like the other products, it’s just the perfect amount of shimmer without overdoing it. Honestly, this color is just plain pretty!

Modern Minerals swatches

Here are some swatches. From top down we have Modern Moonstone Highlighter, Rose Quartz Eyeshadow, Padparadscha Lipgloss, Citrine Lipgloss. SO pretty right? It was hard to find the right lighting to do the highlighter justice, but it just gives such a subtle, natural looking glow in person.

Beauty Heroes and Modern Minerals

Each month I say this, but seriously- this box is such a great deal. All of these products are full size and would retail for $96 normally, but get them all for under $39 in the June box. As many of you know I’m an ambassador for Beauty Heroes. For my new readers, that means I do get the box sent to me each month, but I want to be transparent in saying that Beauty Heroes always gives the ambassadors the option of whether or not to post about the box that month and always encourages us to be honest about our experience. They strive to keep things as authentic as possible, which is what I’m also striving for on this blog, so it’s perfect match as far as I’m concerned. Each month they put so much thought, love and consideration into their choices for what goes into the box and I have the utmost respect for them. So, on that note, they have been picking up new subscribers left and right and last month sold out and this month is predicted to as well. So if you want to get in on this month’s box, the earlier the better! You can sign up for a box here or shop for past favorites here (members always get 15% off in their shop). Also, this month they have a deal for members and non-members alike. The Love More, Use Less promotion is a complimentary Agent Nateur Deodorant Holi(stick) with any beauty store purchase of $100 or more. Hope you all have a lovely week and for those who already subscribe, I hope you love the surprise in this month’s box as much as I do! xoxo
