I know, I know. You want to go all natural, but it’s hard to break up with your hair products. Trust me- I get it! Once you have a styling product that works for your hair, it’s hard to imagine struggling through some bad hair days to just to find a new product. Hair is the area I struggled in most when I went all natural a few years ago. Even just a couple years back, it was hard to find a good natural hair product to smooth hair or give it some volume. Don’t get me wrong, there were products out there, but nothing compared to how I remembered my old, conventional products working. Luckily, these days going all natural doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice performance. I’ve rounded up my tried and true hair styling products that always perform well and only let the good ingredients in.

Josh Rosebrook Hairspray

Hair Spray

This is a big one. I use it everyday, no matter how I style my hair. For years now my favorite has been Josh Rosebrook HOLD. It has a fine spray and really does well to hold curls, tame the flyaways I get around my part and do anything else I throw at it. It has a very light, fresh scent and leaves your hair feeling natural rather than stiff. I also really appreciate that there’s nothing drying in the formula. Some natural hair sprays are heavy on the alcohol so they dry quicker when using them, but that translates into being harsh on your hair.

Josh Rosebrook Lift

Volumizer

Another favorite from Josh Rosebrook is LIFT. When this launched, I was over the moon. I went years without a product that really lifted my roots and gave any volume. The easy spray mists your roots (or all over if you prefer) and you get an incredible bounciness after you dry your hair. I love this for days I wear my hair straight, but still want a little bounce and movement.

Flourish Curl Creme

Curl Cream

Flourish Honey Blossom + Marshmallow Root Curling Crème has such a mellow, but sweet scent. It’s very light weight compared to other curl creams I’ve tried, but it really works! This is great for the day after I curl my hair. The second day after I curl, I always wake up to a mess. A little of this and everything is smooth and neat, with nicely defined curls.

Flourish Silkening Serum

Smoothing Serum

I live in the south, so having something to fight frizz is a must! Another great product from Flourish is their Lavender Mint + Clover Silkening Serum. It’s very light weight and a little smoothed over my hair makes it softer and smoother. For my hair type, I really like their whole Lavender Mint + Clover line. It leaves your hair bouncy and silky smooth.

Innersense Healing Oil

Hair Oil

When I feel my ends getting dry or I didn’t take the time to properly dry or style my hair, nothing beats a good hair oil! It conditions and puts your hair in place. My favorite right now is Innersense Harmonic Healing Oil. I have thick, somewhat wavy hair, so the oil absorbs in without making me greasy. If you have fine hair, I’d say to use this as more of a treatment. You can apply it a half hour or so before washing your hair and it will leave your hair soft and shiny. It’s great for an extra moisture boost too.

Florapothecarie

Sea Salt Spray

Those days that you want a beachy look or can’t seem to do anything with your hair? Salt spray to the rescue! If you already have some texture to you hair it makes it look more intentional and pulled together. I don’t use it often, but when I do, I use Florapothecarie Rose + Sea Salt Hair Spray. It smells like roses of course!

Mabrooke & Co Dry Shampoo

Dry Shampoo

This is a staple for me. I usually go 2-3 days between washes and it’s all because of this miracle product. My long time favorite is One Love Organics, but I’ve been testing a new one and really love the fresh, clean scent and how well it absorbs oils. I’ll always love my OLO, but Mabrook & Co Clean Dry Shampoo is quickly becoming a go-to as well.

Antonin B.

Styling Balm

I rarely use a styling balm, but for certain styles it’s the best for smoothing hair and keeping it in place or giving it some definition. I recently tried Antonin B Intense Honey Butter and I really like the texture. It’s not sticky  or too greasy. It’s more of a hard waxy balm that smooths right into hair. It’s very fragrant and perfumey (all natural, of course). I don’t mind the scent, though. It’s mostly ylang-ylang and it’s very unisex.

These are all the products I keep in regular rotation, but I’m curious.. What are some of your top hair styling products? Is there any category you use often that I missed? With so many choices, there’s bound to be a good fit for everyone’s hair out there! xo
