When it comes to your health, what you bring into your home and use on a regular basis can have a big impact. The overwhelming number of toxins used in the average home can have a cumulative effect on our health and that’s exactly what prompted the founder of the Back To Basics Box to help consumers take back their health one products at a time, one box at a time. I really love the mission behind this box. The founder, Ashleigh, was working in her private homeopathic practice when she realized so many of the patients she was treating were getting sick from their own environments. She set out to provide healthier choices to consumers and help them clean up their homes, by getting back to the basics.

Back To Basics Box

Each box includes a mix of home products and personal care products. You guys know I’ve tried my share of beauty boxes, so this really stood out to me since it’s addressing everything in your environment- not just your beauty routine. After speaking with Ashleigh on the phone and hearing how passionate she was about selecting safe products that also work great, I was very intrigued to see what brands and products were included in the box. So when I received the April Eco Chic Chica box, I couldn’t wait to open it. In fact, some of you may have seen me unboxing it on Instagram Stories. All of the brands and products were new to me, which is a big plus since I always like being introduced to new brands that are working hard to create a safer product.

Thinksport Bottle

Thinksport Bottle + Coffee Top Adapter

The first thing that caught my eye in the box was the pretty, pastel pink Thinksport Bottle. The double walled, vacuum-sealed stainless steel can keep drinks hot or cold for hours at a time and the coolest thing about it it the top. It has a mesh insert that strains out ice, fruit or anything else you may put in your water. They also say you can brew tea in this and it will keep the tea leaves in the bottle, rather than coming out of it while you sip it. The shape of it is great for holding onto while you’re active and the outside of it has enough texture to allow you to keep a good grip. Also included in this month’s box was an accessory to the bottle- Thinksport’s Coffee Top Adapter. You can fully remove the sport topper and use this top instead for coffee or hot liquids while you’re on the go.

Bright Side

Bight Side by The Optimist Co.

This glass cleaner has a cute bottle and the most basic and effective ingredients. This is my first time trying anything from the The Optimist Co., but I’m really impressed with it’s performance and how the ingredients stack up to conventional window cleaners. The ingredients are distilled water, vinegar, and essential oil blend of tea tree and eucalyptus. I normally use vinegar and water to clean glass, so this is an upgrade with a little extra kick. Both tea tree and eucalyptus have anti bacterial and anti viral properties, so this can disinfect as well as clean. It smells great without the use of synthetic fragrances which most cleaners are loaded with.

Organic Fiji Sugar Polish

Organic Fiji Sugar Polish

Just in time for warmer temps, they included this all natural and organic body polish. This also happens to have very basic, but effective ingredients. Just organic coconut oil and organic cane sugar! It has no fragrance or anything else added in. It’s great for getting your skin smooth in a flash, plus the coconut oil is really hydrating. I’ve found this to be great to use just before I shave. The jar is huge to, by the way. It will last a long time!
