The shortest month of the year also happens to be the coldest (at least around here). If we’re going to get a big snow storm in N.C., it usually happens in February. The kids are dying to go sledding in our new neighborhood so they’ve been crossing their fingers for some real snow! It’s also the month of love, which at times can be over-commercialized, but let’s be real- I think we could use some extra love this month. Whether it’s connecting with others or just showing yourself a little more love, which is what I’m going to focus on this month. I struggle with putting my needs on the back burner until I just feel burnt out and I’ve tried over and over again to be better about making time for myself. My goal for February is to take care of myself a just little bit better, so I’ve rounded up 7 things to help show yourself a little love and beat the cold this month!

Leahlani Bohemian Ruby Balancing Toner

7 Things For February

If I want to show my skin some love, my first instinct is always to reach for some of my Leahlani products. Whether it be the gentle Mermaid Mask or the ultra moisturizing Bless Balm, I know my skin will feel nourished and loved. I recently added the Bohemian Ruby toner into my routine and it is yet again, another gorgeous, nurturing product from Leahlani. This pink spray has fresh Hawaiian spring water, organic aloe vera and calendula, Hawaiian sea silt ferment and a blend of botanicals that treat and nourish your skin. It’s truly lovely.

100% Pure Cleansing Balm

7 Things For February

Speaking of loving your skin, cleansing with a balm always makes me visualize wrapping my skin in cashmere. It’s so gentle and really gets every speck of dirt, makeup and oil off your face. 100% Pure sent me their new Blood Orange Cleansing Balm, which will be released later this month and I’m loving it. The bright citrusy scent and the creamy, easy to apply texture, won me over fast. You can purchase it starting 2/22 on their site.

Ethical Fashion

Ethical Wardrobe

I’ve been more conscious of our clothing and what they are made from for a while now, but I have to admit, it can be overwhelming to think about where they are coming from, who made them, and if that person was paid a fair wage or even paid at all. It seems expensive and unattainable to try to buy all organic/natural and ethically made clothes. That doesn’t have to be the case though. Tricia from Nihaonewyork.net has a guide with easy steps to take towards curating a more ethical wardrobe. I was going to treat myself to a few things to perk up my wardrobe this month, but after reading her post, I have a different approach and it’s one I think I’ll be even more happy with long term. You can read her whole guide here.

Fair Trade, Organic Chocolate

7 Things For February

Well if you’re going to treat yourself this month, you may as well have some chocolate (I know I’ll be having some!). My favorite kind is Alter Eco. They have the best flavors and they’re organic and ethically produced. So it’s good for you, the planet and the people who harvested it= win-win.  You can find their chocolate bars at Whole Foods or on their site.

The Moon Juice Cookbook

7 Things For February

My hubby bought this cookbook for me for Christmas and I have to admit, I was so excited to receive it but, it’s taken me a while to get into the book. I finally cracked it open and made a few recipes and it’s all been so good! All of the recipes are healthy and meant to help your body be at it’s optimal state. This is a great way to take better care of yourself all while making things that seem indulgent, if only from how pretty they are. You can find it here.

Lovechild

7 Things For February

This rose-gold highlighter is perfect for adding a little glow to your skin or hair this Valentine’s Day. This is another potion from my talented friend Lauren of Freelovebeauty.com. We’ve had some gloomy days and I had trouble getting a good swatch, but check out her insta to see it shining in the Cali sun. Lauren and I may have something exciting planned on Instagram in the next couple of days, so keep an eye out!

Waterless Wonder Balm

Waterless Wonder Balm

Have I talked about Maya Chia too much lately? Honestly, they’ve joined the ranks of just a handful of brands that are my very top favorite and seem to always make superior products. I now have a full-on addiction to their Waterless Wonder Balm and take it everywhere I go. I have one in my purse and one in my bathroom. It’s great for dry hands during these colder months and for anywhere else you need a big moisture boost. I even use it on my face when it’s feeling very dehydrated. It has the best ingredients including their super critical chia seed oil that’s able to deeply hydrate. It’s worth every single penny. You can buy it here.

Happy February everyone! xoxo
